The Battle belongs to the Lord

We thank God Almighty and our Lord Jesus Christ for giving us yet another opportunity to Praise and Worship Him.

The Care For The Elderly Ministry organized this month’s program on Saturday, the 24th of June, at the Rev. Stewart Wright Hall. The speaker was Dr. Stafford Cripps. He gave an inspiring message on the topic, “The Battle belongs to the Lord” from Exodus 14:13, 14.

The program started with a time of Praise and Worship by singing four beautiful Hymns led by the Youth.

Dr. Cripps’ message based on the above topic, spoke about Moses – his first 40 years as a prince, the next 40 years in the wilderness, and then the final 40 years as a leader, and how after the 10th plague the LORD inflicted on the Egyptians, Pharaoh had to humble himself and let the Israelites go. The LORD fought the battle for them and delivered His people from the enemy. (Exodus 14: 14). Dr. Cripps also enumerated in detail, the wonderful way by which the LORD led them across the Red Sea and through the Wilderness.

Dr. Cripps next spoke about Jesus being the sole person who can deliver us from all struggles. We must love one another and forgive each other, and by doing so, we set ourselves free.

There was a time of activity, mainly to get to know each other better, and a game where each member had to ‘laugh out loud’ to feel better!

In conclusion, we thank all who came together in helping us organize this program, the Youth, master Jousha Mohanraj and Mrs. Rashmi S. Mohanraj, the Convener of the Young Couples Fellowship.

We specially thank Dr. Cripps, and all the elders who attended the meeting.

We thank God Almighty and our Lord Jesus Christ for giving us the time to Praise and Worship Him.

The Care For The Elderly Ministry organized this monthly program on Saturday, 28th May 2023 for our Elders at Rev. Stewart Wright Hall. The speaker was Dr. Dominic Benjamin who addressed the gathering with an inspiring and true message of “Dealing with Suffering and Pain of Chronic Illness”, with the Bible reference from 2 Corinthians 4:16 to 18, followed by a Q & ASession.

The program started with the Young Couples Fellowship members and the Elders, Praising and Worshiping the Lord with three beautiful Hymns.

Dr. Dominic Benjamin addressed the gathering on the chosen topic, Dealing with Suffering and Pain of Chronic Illness. He explained the different circumstances of Suffering and Pain, and brought out the different types. He gave four examples of people and how they dealt with their experiences; how members should support people who are going through pain and suffering, and how we must encourage one another. He gave reference to 2 Corinthians 4 where the Apostle Paul speaks about Suffering for Christ and not to despair, and always strive to live in and for HIM who is RISEN.

We are to look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are unseen are eternal.

Dr. Benjamin also spoke about our Unchanging Jesus at All Times, where Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. He spoke on how Jesus never changes and His love for us is never failing. He loves us so much that He was willing to die for us, and therefore we must honour HIM and praise HIM. In the midst of toil and pain, HE is the Only ONE to depend on when all is lost and broken. He quoted from the Book of Isaiah on how HE came into this world for us, and the Love the FATHER has for us.

After the message, there was a short activity time for the elders. In conclusion, we would like to thank all who came together in helping us organize this program, and all the elders who attended the meeting.
